What is FCCLA?
FCCLA is a non-profit organization that strongly believes in empowering students to become leaders and make positive changes in their community by giving them leadership qualities and essential life skills. The organization values personal growth, leadership development, and community involvement. They do this by emphasizing skills like responsibility, collaboration, and citizenship. Its mission is to promote growth in areas of family life, career readiness, and social responsibility.
Chapter Advisor
The Northside Middle School FCCLA chapter advisor is Laura Sewell. Mrs. Sewell grew up in Kathleen, GA and graduated from Houston County High School in 2002. In 2007, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Education: Community Health and Human Services from Georgia College & State University. In 2023, she completed her master’s degree in Workforce Education at the University of Georgia.
Northside Middle School FCCLA
The Northside Middle School FCCLA chapter provides students with opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, and essential life skills in a positive and supportive environment. Members participate in hands-on activities that focus on communication, goal setting, community service, and Family and Consumer Sciences. Through FCCLA, students build confidence, strengthen responsibility, and learn how to work effectively with others while making a positive impact in their school and community.
